About Me

I'm Mike Morraye (1986) and live in Ghent - Belgium. Currently working as a servicedesk-employee serving the city of Ghent. During free time I like taking technology to the limit. Exploring all the possibility's of protocols and apps is my way of seeking knowledge.

Contribution to Ubuntu

As an active member of the Ubuntu-be LoCo team, I lend a hand at almost all Ubuntu-related activity's in Ghent. I've been advising people and helping them install Ubuntu trough the Ubuntu-be support team. Last year I organised the 9.04 Release party in Ghent and am currently organising the Ubuntu lucid lynx release party for Ghent too.

As I'm not a coder, I don't submit patches or write new code for the wonderful OS. Being an active member in the #Ubuntu-be meetings and activity's is my way of contributing. You can find me on almost each Dipro-fair in Ghent at the Ubuntu-booth and I organised the 9.04 Release Party in Ghent. Currently, I'm working on the Release Party @ Ghent for the Lucid release. I was helping out at the Fosdem 2010 Ubuntu booth together with other Ubutero's. During Beta-periods I try to test as many situations & hardware as possible. I've been testing on a Dell Latitude D820, Dell Latitude E6500 and various custom build Desktop machines (using both Ati & Nvidia cards). I also help brainstorming during the Wednesday scheduled meetings of Ubuntu-be on how things should go.

Plans for the future

I hope to become the regular host of Release Party's in Ghent and hope to contribute code and actually fix bugs in the future.
