We're excited to share a preview of the new look we've been developing for Ubuntu. We started this work with a refresh of the Ubuntu logo. Naturally we retain the iconic graphic device, but we've updated and lightened the font and colour scheme. We feel this refresh conveys core Ubuntu values in a new and exciting way. Specifically, Ubuntu embodies freedom, is collaborative, precise and reliable. This work celebrates who we are, where we've been and where we're heading.

For many people their first experience of Ubuntu is in the form of a CD that they're given. So we looked at the CD design and explored how we might apply a new style to this asset.

Another way that we reach out to existing and new users is through the web. Users come direct to ubuntu.com and the range of community websites for the latest release, tips and support. We wanted this work to help freshen up the web making our pages light, open and easy to use.

People all over the world have come together around Ubuntu and created community sites to support fellow users and participate in the Ubuntu project.

We'll be working with the Ubuntu community teams to help incorporate the new look into approved community sites like Local Community, or LoCo, team sites. We're also producing brand guidelines to give guidance on how to use our fresh new look in the most appropriate way.

And finally we've been thinking about how this brand lives in places that aren't on computers. Shirts, stickers, booklets, these are all places where this work will be visible. We want to wear and share our love for Ubuntu and we've got some ideas of ways we might do this in the future.

Thanks for coming to share in a sneak peak at the work we've done so far.
