About me

My name is Antonio Sánchez, I'm a Computer Science Engineer (BSc speciality in Management) and also Marketing BSc student from Spain.

I work for Isotrol (Canonical's Gold Partner) at the Advanced Centre for ICT Schools Management fighting with the largest educational network (400.000+ desktops and 3.500+ servers) running Ubuntu derivative (GuadalinexEdu) and Debian at the server side.

Contributions

• Responsible of the validation process of desktops, laptops, netbook, servers, printers, scanner, cameras, etc. with Ubuntu at the Junta de Andalucia and negociations with manufacturers to support Ubuntu.

• Active fixing and reporting bugs that affect to corporative users.

• Promote the use of Ubuntu at the University of Seville.
• Support to users of the University of Seville.
• Participation at UDS Karmic 9.10 (Barcelona, Spain)
• Participation at UDS Lucid 10.04 (Dallas, TX, USA)

Interests

• Hardware certification under GNU/Linux
• Improving IT Management Processes
• Marketing in several FLOSS projects

Plans for Ubuntu

• Increase stability as much as possible of Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS previous to deploy it in 400.000+ desktops
• Promote the use of Ubuntu in corporative environments
• Collaborate with upstream in the adoption of local projects from Guadalinex Edu:
