About me

My name is Ian MacGregor and I use the nickname "ardchoille" online. I am an ordained minister, I hold two doctorate degrees and I am a member of Clan Gregor. My nickname (ardchoille) was taken from the phrase "Ard Choille!", which is Scottish Gaelic for "To the high trees!" - the war cry of my clan. I purchased my first kilt in 2001 and I currently wear the kilt as part of my daily attire.

I have been using computers since 1983 and building computers since 2001. I have been using Linux since it became my primary operating system in 2001. Since I started using Linux I have learned HTML, CSS, some javascript, some python, and some perl. Linux taught me that I could build or download software rather than buy it and still yield a quality system.
