About me

My name is Ian MacGregor, I use the nickname "ardchoille" online, and I am a member of Clan Gregor. My nickname (ardchoille) was taken from the phrase "Ard Choille!", which is Scottish Gaelic for "To the high trees!" - the war cry of my clan. I purchased my first kilt in 2001 and I currently wear the kilt as part of my daily attire. I am an ordained minister and hold two Doctorate degrees.

Computer experience

I have been using computers since 1982 and building computers since 1998. I have been using Linux since 2001, when it became my primary operating system. Since I started using Linux I have learned HTML, CSS, javascript, shell scripting, python, and perl. I have been using Ubuntu as my sole operating system since 2005. Linux taught me that I could build or download software rather than buy it and still yield a quality system.
