  • Discussed obtaining a new “go to” light distribution to be installed at our Sierra Vista Installfests on old and under powered computers. This is a result of Lubuntu moving to LXQT in an effort to “modernize” their distro which has also made it bloated and unusable on older and under powered machines. This was effective with the 18.10 release. Lubuntu 18.04 is still supported until April 2021 so there is no hurry to choose a replacement.

This led to a general discussion of security and some of the simple things that can be done to improve it.
