Online Meetings

  • Our online meetings are held every Sunday on IRC Channel: #ubuntu-us-az in irc.freenode.net at 9:00pm. If you are unfamiliar with IRC chat channels, there are instructions on how to set up xchat listed in the above Membership link.

Team Goals

  • As stated in the introduction, our goals are to help spread the use of Ubuntu and Open Source in the State of Arizona. We will implement team and community service projects as needed to achieve these goals.

Future Events

Statewide Open Source Conference

This is to be an conference to educate, advocate, and collaborate for Open Source in Arizona.

  • Educate: Gather other open source advocates and potential converts for a weekend of lectures and demonstrations concerning open source subjects.
  • Advocate: Demonstrate to the conference how Ubuntu is a leader in stability, resources, support in the world today.
  • Collaborate: Unite the state LUGs with our group to concentrate our efforts to promote open source in Arizona.

Intrepid Ibex 8.10

Planning for the next Ubuntu release, Intrepid Ibex 8.10.

  • Use our Hardy Release Party and Installfest experience to improve our success. Areas to concentrate on include location, advertising(print & radio), flyer distribution.

Ubuntu Demo at Prescott Computer Society

  • The team has been invited to present an Ubuntu demonstration for the Prescott Computer Society on Saturday, September 27, 2008. This is where slofgrens now resides, and he will be making the presentation. Some team members may also attend if possible. Details to follow as we get closer to the date.
