Grub Splash Images

Based on Human and Glossy Ubuntu, I've done two splash images for grub.

Removed Yellow/Orange from Top Left

First of all, great work. I'm using (my edit of) the glossy version right now. The only change I made was to remove the yellow/orange from the top left corner. They were a bit distracting because the only other red/yellow/orange in the picture occur on ubuntu logos. Here are my results.

Guidelines

  1. Create the folder splashimages in /boot/grub

    •  sudo mkdir /boot/grub/splashimages

  2. Copy .xpm.gz files into /boot/grub/splashimages

  3. Edit your Grub menu.lst and add this line:

    • for Human theme:
      •  splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splashimages/HumanUbuntu.xpm.gz

      or for Glossy theme:
      •  splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splashimages/GlossyUbuntu.xpm.gz

NOTE: Change the partition and directory according to your system's setup.

  4. Reboot your system to see the new grub splash image! Wink ;)
