Welcome

This is the home page for the Ubuntu English (Australia) Translators team. We also exist on [https://launchpad.net/people/ubuntu-l10n-en-au Launchpad].

Overview

This team focuses on translating Ubuntu into Australian English using [https://launchpad.net/rosetta/+about Rosetta]. It is hoped that this wiki page will assist the Australian translators in working as a cohesive group, rather than a collection of individuals.

Communication

  1. I think most members hang out at #ubuntu-au on irc.freenode.net:6667 [http://meldra.no-ip.info/eucalyptirc Via Shoutbox in your browser]

  2. Currently waiting on a mailing list to be set up.

Translation Guidelines

In the interest of consistency, I think we need to come to some agreement on the spelling of certain words and how they are translated from other versions of English. The following is the beginning of such a thing. Please feel free to change things. These are based my observations of how others have been translating in Rosetta. Wikipedia also has a good article on [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_and_British_English_spelling_differences American and British English spelling differences].
