Team members. please add yourself to the Forums team (since that is all of us), and to any Focus Group that you would like. Only link to your UF profile from the Forums category - other links should be relevant to the topic or non-existent if not applicable. Prospective Members can participate and join Focus Groups. The only thing we ask is that you do not add your name to the launchpad group for that Focus Group until you are a full member of the team.

Development

Group Description

The Ubuntu Beginners Development Team is a sub-team of the Ubuntu Beginners Team. The main goal of the Development Focus Group is twofold. The first is to create an environment where Beginners Team members can program in a relaxed setting with people they know very well. The second goal is to leverage the talent to create applications that enhance the new user's experience with Ubuntu. The Development team requires a very strict skill set, one of the more difficult focus groups to become a full member in.

It works in a similar fashion to #ubuntu, except that our channel is less busy with other queries from others. The channel also servers as a place to direct people to who are asking for assistance in #ubuntu-beginners.

Security

Group Description

While it is often remarked that Ubuntu comes secure out of the box, many users often express concern over further hardening their systems. Beyond fortifying their OS, there is often concern(s) over an attempt or successful breach of user security. The goal of the Security Focus Group is to assist these users, both new and old, in the attempt at developing and assisting with solutions to security related matters.
