Booting to a new operating system is often exciting, but problem solving or relearning system administration is often daunting for new users.
Line 14: Line 17:
To make matters worse, it is human nature to resist change. Thus a user's old operating system, with all its quirks and shortfalls, is set as the de facto gold standard. In essence, people confuse ''familiarity'' with ''ease of use''. Unrealistically expecting that a new operating system will function "just like the old one", with little or no learning curve This can result in a frustrating "first date."
