If we buy 500 CD at once they are even cheaper did anybody know how much CD-Rs cost us ? (CD-R + jacket + pinting cost + burning cost?) does * * guest (~guest@d51530769.static.telenet.be) a rejoint #ubuntu-be * mimor_fosdem feels obsolete now that FOSDEM 2010 is history so bye * mimor_fosdem est parti (Quit: leaving) cd-r 100 for 21 euro, 100 cd sleeves for 2 euro, cost burning and printing cd sleeves ? prices from the last dipro * guest est parti (Client Quit) so probably somewhere 0.25-0.35 € / CD ? probably hm, Canonical shop is 0.93 € / CD and pressing our own around 0.50 € somewhere ? * guydup (~guydup@d51530769.static.telenet.be) a rejoint #ubuntu-be you mean burning or pressing http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/purchase/europe pressing we should be able to buy them from http://www.linux-service.be/ :D mimor: he pays the same price as we do... isn't there a company in belgium that burns cd's en mass most of the companies that do pressed CDs do but don't forget they have to ask money for their time ☺ I know http://www.kopieer-cd.be e.g. the company that bbartek used for hardy does we can ask for prices... doesn't hurt I guess? i suggest we come back later on this problem in the topic promotion material, and now let's speak about fosdem report fosdem was... sweet! the tux-droids got a lot of attention as well did the little arm test plate who will write a report in the wiki (for people who was not in fosdem) ? >< eh... I don't feel like it but if no one else wants to.... I still need to make inventory, but if somebody wants to start feel free ☺ just let me spend my last 2 days with my GF.. then she leaves forever and I have time ;) eh if nobody starts, I'll do it after inventory is done... ok, i cann't start it ! use the wiki page to add notes for the report and links for pics (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Fosdem/2010) that's the general ubuntu.com wiki wouldn't it be better to create an ubuntu-be wiki page for it? (we can add a link to the report on the general page) yeah, better put it on the BelgianTeam pages just rename the page as BelgianTeam/Fosdem2010 ? no, there are lots of links to that wiki page! is here someone who is involved with 28 ste Hobby en Computerdagen in Antwerp Expo guydup: yes, I guess that will be next topic ok JanC, up to you for the fosdem page (report and pics) other comments for fosdem ? yes BTW: we got some nice help from people from ubuntu-nl ("ertai") & ubuntu-ie (Laura Czajkowski) at the booth next year we'll be there again mimor: of course ☺ but if possible I would like to review the stuff we sold like the 'stock' and what sold verry well and what did less * Clamam (~claudio@d51A51CAF.access.telenet.be) a rejoint #ubuntu-be like next time, if possible, more mugs and more black t'shirts (and less kubuntu stuff) ;) it something you can discuss with jan for the report, including lessons learned for next year ok next toppic? next item : antwerp, hobby & computerdagen (20/02/2010 – 21/02/2010) in cooperation with hcc regio vlaanderen https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Antwerp_2010-02-20_21 we still need additional volunteers for sunday 21/02 for 20/02, the team is ok at least one extra for sunday for those who don't know: nero_ is our "HCC contact" ☺ i don't know if jurgen will come ? at FOSDEM nero_ said he won't is that still true? I didn't see Jurgen on the last HCC meeting I'll send him a mail to ask * wamukota est parti (Quit: Ex-Chat) i'll send again mails to my contacts in a'pen : let's hope ! guydup : question about a'pen ? i need to know exact hour for delivering and pickup of the multiseat computer nero_ ? is there a parking ticket needed and a phone number from the contact I'll be there Saturday from 08:30 ~ 09:00 to prepare the stand i will only deliver on saterday and pickup on sunday nero_: also, did you think about something to sit on for the people working on the multiseat? I can get some chairs guydup : how many chairs needed ? send this info to my e-mail: guy@linux-service.be six there is a parking just behind the fair or 2 benches and is it freely accessable on sunday for pickup? * Clamam (~claudio@d51A51CAF.access.telenet.be) a quitté #ubuntu-be * Clamam (~claudio@d51A51CAF.access.telenet.be) a rejoint #ubuntu-be after 05:00 PM (closing) of the fair) * Clamam (~claudio@d51A51CAF.access.telenet.be) a quitté #ubuntu-be ok,let me know on mail have to leave now bye guydup and thanks for the multiseat at FOSDEM & H&C days ☺ * guydup est parti (Quit: Java user signed off) I'll send you the details nero_ : do you have something else to add ? any idea how many cd's we should prepare? certainly 100+ for 2 days Ok, I'm going to leave too maybe 200+ for a normal dipro fair, i think 50, ... do you need flyers and posters ? home-printed cd sleeves ? something else you need me for? free on 21/02 for a'pen ? I can print flyers in advance, is 200 enough? I have posters (enough) & flyers (have to check how many) jean7491, I'm not going to go to A'pen nero_: there are colour flyers the printer does not accept sleeves :( sorry :s * t00r (~t00r@unaffiliated/t00r) a rejoint #ubuntu-be but maybe printing a bunch of the "how to install"-flyers might be useful sec, I'm going to check how many colour flyers I have left I ment the "using live cd-rom" flyers K. If I've got a remark on something.. I'll just reply tot the report then ;) see you all! on my hp5440, i print cd sleeve once a time, model is in the wiki (ink-friendly) nero_: do you have colour flyers ? Yes ah, okay, then I'll keep mine for dipro Bruges nero_ : my actual stock : 30 home printed cd sleeves + 100 blanco (paper) other question for a'pen ? JanC: do you come on Saturday with the promo material? yes, I'll come on Saturday, but not Sunday that way I can bring whatever is still needed nero_ "with the promo material?" which one ? I'll probably can't make it to Bruges/Ostend this weekend if you could bring the sleeves from Jean7491 shirts, mugs, caps, ... whatever is available for selling tux flyers if there are some no more mugs unfortunately, and mostly kubuntu t-shirts, unless we buy more... I can easely print colour A4 stuff needed, but no other formats well, we have ubuntu t-shirts, but not in all sizes I think nero_ : tux flyers (for kids) : you can ask it to guydup we should at least have t-shirts for the boot people I stil have some tux flyers, and normally he will include them with the multiseat (they are multiseat flyers after all) nero_: I have 2 or 3 t-shirts for booth people + 1 or 2 caps IIRC should be enough if the size fits :) plus I'll wear one of my own, and Ward will bring the one he wore at FOSDEM 1 M + 2 L t-shirts + 1 cap nero_ : you can print badges "be loco team" : to be printed on 160 gr paper, and eventually plastified with adhesive plastic sheet I have 4 such badged on a lanyard ok other question for antwerp ? not for now nero_: will we have some wall or something to hang things on? we have our booth on a side wall I'l see with Willem from HCC wat's behind us ok, next item ? dipro brugge 28/02 for now, only 2 volunteers in the team (wiki) : we need additional volunteers this is a small fair (yes pieter) and i'm still trying to get new people involved preparation : see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Brugge_2010-02-28 hopely more next week next item : dipro charleroi 07/03 - no comment from my side https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Charleroi_2010-03-07 i suppose no other comment next item the digital week 6-12/03 as an esample of local initiative : on 11/02 ubuntu-be will be present in ostend with a booth (forum-room bibliotheek Kris Lambert), 2 links ... Brugge might be larger (more visitors) than last time because there is no fair in Ostend http://zandletters.be/spip.php?article150, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/DigitalWeek-Ostend_2010-03-11 additional volunteers will be welcome, but i've no idea about the potential public (likely limited) * JanC added himself to the wiki for Bruges * |mantas| (~ubuntu@62.235.175.66) a rejoint #ubuntu-be ah, they will have a tuxpaint talk too yes, but i've ta ask who is doing that to ask ... maybe they can tell the people at the tuxpaint talk that tuxpaint is open source like Ubuntu, so if free paint program is cool --> free OS might be too ☺ yes this is a local initiative, we will come back later on this in topic 4 i suggest we continue with topic 2 Promotion material Comment about the proposal to burn CD's for Ubuntu-be ? See last week reports (in the wiki) on 5/2 steven leeman wrote some details about hardy heron cd's, link to http://www.kopieer-cd.be/prijzen/cd-produceren-prijsklasse.jsp and the fact that no sponsor logo was used, only url's. I think the sponsors were only on the posters & flyers for the release party because part of the CDs were used in .nl also and url's on the cd's BTW: Guy said he wants to buy at least 200 CDs if we press our own (now he has to buy them at the Canonical shop) and MarkVDB also said he wants to buy or pay for some http://www.cdpress.lu/fr/contact/ adress in Luxembourgh (as cd-r are already much cheaper than in Belhium...) maybe they burn them cheaper to. not burning, pressing indeed JanC pressing sorry ;-) most companies that offer CD pressing services don't do that themselves BTW they outsource it to a small number of real CD-pressing plants I think there is one in .nl and a couple in .de as I know, probablky a couple in .fr too,n but I know of no CD pressing plant in .be Disco-Press Belgium http://www.crimson-ceremony.net/pr3/pressingplants/index_cd.html and 2 others if they all still exist as we can not solve all problems, we should ask a dedicated team to investigate the possibilities and to make concrete proposals Is someone volunteers to lead the team ? I'm sure bbartek wants to help with that, not sure if he wants to lead it again? probably JanC, plop :-) we can discuss in group to define the need what, how many, ..., but we need a small group gathering and investigating informations ... bbartek: 't gaat weer over CDs persen ☺ I can still do some work like driving to germany to deliver de master cd or something like that but I do not have the time to lead a project ja ik zag 't net ben net hier So if you need me to do some work for the cd's I'm voluteering okay, so we need another "team lead" ☺ anybody volunteering? i will add in the report we need a team leader for this project, and we will see ! if someone eventually react ? other comment on this project ? Next topic 3 - support points map status well, I think it might be slightly more expensive than burning CD-Rs, but looks better, and saves a lot of time? Pierre isn't here, so no support points map update? i have no new information , other comment JanC a last word about cd : burning cd's is only an easy way (but it takes time) , waiting for progress in the project "cd in mass" i suggest topic 4 – things living in the mailing list (at least 2 items) first item : as already mentioned last week, we should find new ways/events to promote ubuntu: all suggestions are welcome! Wamukota suggested ubuntu-be participation in all kind of open doors organized by schools : we can extend this suggestion to all kind of hobby fairs locally organized by associations or cities the participation to the digital week in ostend is an example local initiative is the cornerstone of success : everybody can look for contact and propose activities wamukota is also going to do something IIRC indeed in brugge 18/03 we should see more initiatives like that comments, suggestions or proposals ? no reaction ? next item ? 2d item (and after that there is a 3d one) about the procedure for re-approval-application : the loco council meeting about the re-approval of our loco team is planned on 16/02 at 21.00 hr. all members of the loco team are invited to take part to the meeting on irc #ubuntu-meeting * bbartek est parti (Quit: Ik ga weg) the draft is available in the wiki https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ReapprovalApplication2010-Draft, it can be amended till 12/02 JanC : how many people subscribed to the mailing list ? let me check... 393 ok added that to the wiki i already asked mongolito404 to add a contribution, other comment ? 3d item : Suggestion of a monthly report (JanC) : was supposed to be discuss during fosdem – any progress or comment ? not really discussed it was way too busy most of the time ☺ so nothing new, for next meeting ? other question not in the agenda ? yeah, I suppose * pvandewyngaerde1 est parti (Read error: Connection reset by peer) if nothing else to be discussed, my last topic is : next meeting on 17/02/2010 at 21 h. well, and 16/2 of course ;-) of course, i don't now if you reviewed the draft or if you have something to add ? I read through it already, and will add some things normally approval & reapproval are done before any other topics, so I think our reapproval might be directly at 21h immediately I mean well, maybe 21:15 to allow for people arriving late etc. ;-) ok, are there usually questions about the application or other topic ? i'll validate the draft (change the name) on sunday evening jean7491: ping me when you do & I'll add the link to the agenda (or do it yourself) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoCouncilAgenda --> where I put "(soon)" now ok, i'll see end of the meeting, thanks to all for your participation, see you next week (17/02), but don't forget the reapproval meeting on 16/02, have a good night !
