<massimo21> me
<JanC> o/

<jean7491> yes, wait, yanu ? gadeynebram ?
<jean7491> anyone else for the meeting ?
<jean7491> no reaction, wz start topic #1. future events - September 2010 - update
<jean7491> item #1 Dipro Kortrijk (10/10)
<jean7491> for now, 4 volunteers from ostend en brugge, and nobody from kortrijk area !
<yanu> ok
<jean7491> organization, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Kortrijk_2010-10-10
<jean7491> hello yanu
<jean7491> JanC : question ?
* stefan73 (~stefan73@d54C0866C.access.telenet.be) a rejoint #ubuntu-be
<jean7491> JanC about timing, i'll be to your home at 07.40 h. (not 08.40), then by alain and further to kortrijk, arrival +/- 09.00 h.
<jean7491> JanC : ok?
<JanC> moment phone
<JanC> jean7491: okay
<JanC> sorry, my father was on the phone ☺
<jean7491> next ...
<JanC> jean7491: about Kortrijk
<jean7491> JanC : question ?
<JanC> if we go for a "release drink" after the fair, if somebody organises this (maybe nearby the expo?), we could announce it so that also other people can come and say hello?
<JanC> should be somebody from Kortrijk though
<JanC> just an idea
<JanC> that I was thinking about an hour ago
<jean7491> idd, not much local volunteers
<JanC> so if nobody from that region is here, we can move to the next item
<jean7491> item #2 Dipro Brugge (17/10)
<jean7491> volunteers are still welcome for a few hours !
<jean7491> please add your names in the wiki
<jean7491> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Brugge_2010-10-17
<jean7491> question ?
<jean7491> detailled organization, later
<JanC> nope
<jean7491> yanu ?
<yanu> i'm here
<yanu> but not reading ;)
<jean7491> question about brugge ?
<yanu> i 'll be there
<jean7491> ok
<jean7491> next item #3 Any idea about release parties for 10.10 ?
<massimo21> nope
<clamam> no
<jean7491> if no information, next item
<jean7491> item #4 about importance of the booth/event reports (and pictures) ...
<jean7491> i'd like to stress the importance of booth/activity reports, …
<jean7491> first as information source about activities : links are published in our monthly report, which is part of the (worldwide) ubuntu weekly report – everybody have access to the booth/event reports, …
<jean7491> secondly as information source for future re-approval procedure, a kind of memory “this I swhat we have done” ...
<jean7491> a few short sentences and a few pictures is enough
<jean7491> comment ?
<clamam> i have added with our last report the pictures as an attachement (bijlage) tot the wiki
<JanC> certainly something to strive for
<jean7491> clamam ok, i will include the pics below the report, but later
<jean7491> we continue next topic # 2. Promotion
<jean7491> first item Adding links to the website
<jean7491> Details in the wiki https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/Website/Commercial_links …
<jean7491> the email contact-address for this matter is contact@ubuntu-be.org, ...
<ILUsion> I urged all participants of Nielse dag to ammend my partial report, haven' heard back or checked
<jean7491> mail with announcement was sent to the mailing list. Feel free to relay the information to interested people/companies/organizations through personal contacts
<JanC> ILUsion: is there is your report, that's at least something
<jean7491> ok, ILUsion
<JanC> if there*
<jean7491> comment about Adding links to the website ?
<jean7491> still waiting for the 1st request
<JanC> no
<JanC> jean7491: there is one request
<massimo21> so everybody of us can contact companies for adding their link to the site
<JanC> by guy
<jean7491> massimo21 yes
<massimo21> i can contact the bitmappers
<JanC> massimo21: you can give them teh info from that mail
<JanC> we should put that info on the website too
<massimo21> what info?
<JanC> massimo21: the rules etc.
<jean7491> JanC , nothing received from guy
<JanC> https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-be/2010-October/006840.html
<JanC> massimo21: that info
<massimo21> :-)
<jean7491> JanC : when did you received mail from guy and through contact address ??
<JanC> jean7491: subject is "commercial link" and time is yesterday 21:10
<JanC> maybe check spam folder...
<JanC> and yes, through contact address
<jean7491> yes, i found it in spam gmail
<JanC> if gmail keeps being stupid, I can change the address to forward mail to... ;)
<JanC> ask me outside the meeting or via mail then
<massimo21> i got it too
<ILUsion> you can make a filter not to make mails to that address spam ( and else after 1 or 2 unmarks, it should work fine)
<jean7491> ok, now !
<jean7491> now we wait for the 2d request !
<jean7491> if no comment, we continue
<massimo21> about te request
<massimo21> how do we approve it?
<JanC> we discuss internally and if it meets the rules, we add it to the site?
<massimo21> that i did know
<massimo21> but do we discuss it on irc or mailing list?
<massimo21> or ...
<jean7491> just read the request and see if ok, then send your advice to contact address
<JanC> not on the public mailing list
<massimo21> ok
<massimo21> trough mail
<massimo21> then
<JanC> BTW: be sure to not send internal comments to the peopel makign a request ;)

<jean7491> other comment/request ?
<jean7491> question ?
<massimo21> nope
<jean7491> second item, t-shirts for Ubuntu-be
<jean7491> pre-selection: v2-be; v4-be; v6-be, see the designs in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/PromotionMaterial/ProposalsT-shirts ...
<jean7491> as warddr (leading the project is not available today) we wait his initiative or to call for a special meeting to progress.
<jean7491> nothing to add ?
<JanC> let's wait until he has time (if it doesn't take too long ;) )
<jean7491> ok for me
<jean7491> item 3 ubuntu and facebook http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=87950312093&v=wall
<jean7491> suggestions and proposition to improve our facebook image are welcome
<massimo21> i woud suggest something
<massimo21> i think it is better to make a page
<jean7491> thanks massimo21 and clamam for your inputs
<massimo21> not group
<massimo21> as a group you cannot post something as ubuntu
<jean7491> why ? difference ?
<massimo21> it is less official if it is me to post something
<massimo21> understand the difference?
<jean7491> can you use a nickname ? when you post ?
<massimo21> nope
<clamam> if we have a page you have to link your page to 1 email adress, to see the new request for friends
<massimo21> if you want so i have to make a user named ubuntu be
<clamam> i think that a group is better with more administrators
<massimo21> that is also true
* Gh0sty__ (~ghosty@ip-83-134-177-106.dsl.scarlet.be) a rejoint #ubuntu-be
<clamam> the group like it is now is the better choice
<ILUsion> can't we have both, or is that just a double administration?
<clamam> we can have both
<massimo21> explain doubble administration
<ILUsion> well, does FB have functionality to post something to the group and the page at the same time, etc?
<JanC> I think it's okay if you post things as a user
<JanC> you can always refer to a more official source
<clamam> i agree with JanC
<massimo21> that is wath we are doing now
<massimo21> :-)
* Gh0sty_ est parti (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
<jean7491> to seem more "official" you could make a user named ubuntu be-FB_team, for example
<ILUsion> I think massimo21 makes a valid point: if he posts to the group, they will see his user name instead of our Ubuntu-be identity and that might be more confusing to users (on the other hand, FB is a confusin medium, so little harm done perhaps)
<clamam> if we make a page you have to link 1 emailadress to the page
* Gh0sty est parti (*.net *.split)
* Gh0sty__ s'appelle maintenant Gh0sty
<clamam> If that somebody does not have much times the page will not be updated
<massimo21> we can make an gmail account
<massimo21> share with more people
<clamam> we could do that
<massimo21> mine was just an opinion
<clamam> but we have to make the page public like the group, so that other non-members can see the entire page
<JanC> if there is a link to a more official source, there is no confusion
<JanC> and a username on facebook says nothing
<clamam> there are links on the group
<clamam> ubuntu-be
<clamam> ubuntu.com
<massimo21> even ubuntu be wiki
<massimo21> i suggest to evaluate a little bit more to see what happens
<massimo21> there are already 65 members
<JanC> I can make a username "thepope" and say that starting from now catholic priests can marry, and probably thousands of people will believe it (or maybe not ;) )
<massimo21> lol
<jean7491> the question is, if i understood, how to post as Ubuntu-be FB team and not as individual ...
<clamam> it's more personal if you see the name of a member when they post something, ubuntu is for the people and made by the people
<JanC> clamam: that's a good argument too ☺
<clamam> but lets evaluate the facebook-group after 6 months or so
<clamam> then we can see what we can do more or change
<JanC> that's certainly a good idea
<jean7491> ok,
<jean7491> we continue with next topic # 3. Update Wiki ? if no other comment
<jean7491> item #1 structure of the wiki ...
<jean7491> no reaction to last week proposal to review the page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam with a limitation to 10 topics ...
<jean7491> is someone interested in working on the wiki wtructure or we skip the item/topic ??
<JanC> skip it for this week
<jean7491> ok, next topic# 4. Support points map status
<jean7491> mongolito404 is working further on this issue, but no information
<jean7491> no idea bout the success of the "migration"
<ILUsion> gotta go, bye
<massimo21> bye
<jean7491> bye
* ILUsion est parti ()
<jean7491> next topic # 5. Things living in the mailing list and others questions ?
<jean7491> nothing from my side, ???
<clamam> nothing from me either
<JanC> the loco council asks locoteams to log their main channel
<JanC> or at least proposes to do that
<JanC> would anybody be against that?
<clamam> nope
<massimo21> idem
<jean7491> what's the benefit of such a log ?
<JanC> one thing that would change: we would have to make sure that we don't mention plain e-mail address then
<JanC> jean7491: everybody can read the logs then
<JanC> and I think the loco council finds it useful in case their are conflicts inside locoteams
<clamam> are the logs only for the loco council readable
<JanC> so that they can see what really happened
<clamam> or for everybody on the planet
<JanC> no, the logs are public
<JanC> http://logs.ubuntu-eu.org/freenode/
<clamam> the only thing is when we do a meeting, remember big brother is watching you
<jean7491> our meetibgs are already available and can be read, i've no problem with the proposal, but do not understand the benefit for loco council or anyone else, just statistcs about activity or who is active ??
<clamam> but i don't mind
<JanC> clamam: if big brother wants to watch they can just sit here in the channel and log themselves ;)
<clamam> yep, that's right
<clamam> :-[
<JanC> I log everything too, so who says I'm not a member of the KGB? ;)
<jean7491> just see the difference between active in the meeting and present in the channel
<clamam> just don't share personal info, like email and so.... like you said
<jean7491> for me ok
<clamam> ok for me to
<massimo21> ok
<jean7491> now last topic, next irc meeting ? proposed on wednesday 13/10 or thursday 14/10 at 21 h. ?
<massimo21> both ok for me
<clamam> make a choice, it's the same for me
<jean7491> JanC are you going to linuxbabbel on 14/10 ?
<JanC> eh, probably not
<jean7491> preference for the meetingsday ?
<JanC> not really
<jean7491> if no preference, better thursday for eventualy warddr
<massimo21> ok
<massimo21> good night
<clamam> ok
<jean7491> next meeting thursday 14/10 at 21
<jean7491> end of meeting - thanks to all for your participation, and have a good night !
