||<>|| We are celebrating the release of Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) scheduled for April, 2010. Lucid is a Long Term Support (LTS) release. Physical and virtual (IRC & other) events are scheduled. Each release cycle a number of efforts happen around the release. Globally, UbuntuDeveloperWeek and UbuntuGlobalJam events happen a month or two before and focus on contributing to the release. Parties (listed below) and UbuntuOpenWeek happen near or after the release. If you are thinking about organzing one, BuildingCommunity/RunningReleaseParty has some hints and a video how to do a release party. "... can be organized in literally 10 minutes." == Lucid Release Parties == We have planned Lucid release parties at IRC meetings on April 4th and April 18th and on the mailing list.
