Ubuntu Wiki

We will be celebrating the release of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) which is happening in April, 2016. Physical and virtual (IRC & other) Xenial events were scheduled. Each release cycle a number of efforts happen focused around the release. If you are thinking about organizing one, BuildingCommunity/RunningReleaseParty has some hints more hints are described in a video how to do a release party. "... can be organized in literally 10 minutes."

Installfests

USB Stick Distribution

With this release, Canonical has made the move from distributing DVDs to distributing USB sticks.

They will be shipping 25 Ubuntu 16.04 USB sticks for the team to San Francisco in July 2016. Some of these will be given away at the July 28th release party in San Francisco.

We have not yet determined a distribution mechanism for the rest of the state.
