About Me

I have been an [http://www.ubuntu.com/community/processes/newmember Official Ubuntu Member] since early 2006, based primarily on my work with the [:UtahTeam Utah Loco Team]. I have historically focused primarily in areas of community contribution and participation.

I am the author of the [http://ubuntu-tutorials.com Ubuntu Tutorials Blog]. I currently do [http://www.gurulabs.com Linux Training] and create training courseware professionally.

Ubuntu Contributions

Ubuntu Classroom

I am currently working on reviving the Ubuntu [:Classroom Classroom] project for community contribution education.

Ubuntu Hardened

Helped revive the [:UbuntuHardened] project for hardened security discussion and development in Ubuntu. One of my primary focuses within this project has been the adoption of [:HardySELinux].

Utah Team

Founder of the [:UtahTeam] I have been instrumental in creating a presence for Ubuntu in my local state. This position has been recently handed off to AaronToponce.

US Teams Project

Co-Founder and mentor for the [:USTeams] Project I have helped in expanding the Ubuntu LoCo presence in the US. I am still available for mentoring, but the leadership-type position has also been handed off to AaronToponce.

Ubuntu Tutorials

I maintain the [http://ubuntu-tutorials.com Ubuntu Tutorials] blog that is now syndicated on the [http://planet.ubuntu.com Ubuntu Planet].

Ubuntu Folding

I also work a bit with the [https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FoldingAtHome Ubuntu Folding @ Home Project] and developed a [https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FoldingAtHome/folding.sh more native Linux installer] available for Ubuntu and other distributions.
