My first thoughts on the purpose of this team is to provide a means for Ubuntu (and Linux in general) users to find and be able to call upon other people in Connecticut for support, help and encouragement when demonstrating, install-fests and any other formal or informal meetings to discuss the uses and advantages people can find in Ubuntu.   The Ubuntu Connecticut Team is a localized team to promote Ubuntu and Linux in and around the state of Connecticut, USA. If you live or have any connection to the state of Connecticut (live in, moved out of, went to school, friends or family live here, etc.) please feel free to join us in our meetings and future activities. Now is a great time to join in with the Team! Please feel free to join us on our IRC Chat meetings, posting in our [http://connecticut.ubuntuforums.org Forum]! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

This team is a work-in-progress and is definately not something rigid or set in stone. It should, first and foremost, be relaxed and ''fun''! Most of us are working for a living in one form or another and some may have families. I cannot overlook my obligations and I am not about to demand anybody else overlook their obligations!

''All work and no play makes casper a boring ghost''

Working with this team should be fun, and enjoyable. Heaven knows nobody really wants to take on a drab, dull and boring job and what's the real use in that?

A fair amount of time is being taken up trying to figure "how" things work, and then cleaning up the implementation from the experimenting. Anybody with experience with or are willing to oversee any aspect of the team, please feel free to contact me! == Activity Ideas ==

Until we have the mailing list set up, the best ways to keep in contact include the Launchpad Membership ([https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-connecticut/+join/+login join]), keeping tabs on the [http://connecticut.ubuntuforums.org Connecticut Team Forum] and catching us when we are meeting in IRC (FreeNode's #ubuntu-connecticut)   You can become a member by [https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-connecticut/+join/+login joining launchpad], [http://groups.google.com/group/ubuntu-connecticut/subscribe joining the Google Group], joining us in IRC (#ubuntu-connecticut) chat meetings or by [http://connecticut.ubuntuforums.org posting in our forum].

Introduce yourself, and where you are in Connecticut, or any other connection (went to school here, grew up here, have friends/family here, etc.). While the focus on the Team is on Connecticut, that doesn't mean people from other places are not welcomed as well.  The only foreseeable issue is when people are referencing towns and parts of the state.   The Launchpad membership also allows you to edit the Wiki pages, which is helpful in listing and joining projects as well as other Wiki pages to be developed.
