I, Connor Kuehl, apply for upload rights for the linux kernel package(s).

Who I am

My name is Connor Kuehl (pronounced "keel" like the keel of a boat, but I generally don't correct people if they call me "Connor Cool"). I joined Canonical on April 1st, 2019.

I'm a team member on the Stable Kernel Team. My usual responsibilities are centered around the life cycle of the stable kernels! This means that I get to participate in the preparation, packaging, release, and maintenance of Ubuntu's stable kernels. I also review patches coming in from the mailing list as well as backport and patch issues within the kernels.

I graduated from Portland State University (Oregon, USA) in 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science Computer Science degree. Before joining Canonical, I worked as a Software Development Engineer intern at Amazon. While I was in school, I worked as a tutor for the Computer Science department where I ended up specializing in operating systems, but also spent a couple of years helping teach students C++, data structures, debugging techniques, and problem-solving strategies. Prior to that, I worked for the university's Office of Information Technology as a Desktop Service Technician.

Computers have been my primary hobby ever since I first used one when I was little.

My Ubuntu story

I started using Ubuntu in earnest around 2010. I worked for a student-led IT group at my high school and the teacher that supervised the group was adamant that we learn how to support both Windows and Ubuntu computers. Ever since, Ubuntu has been my primary platform for pursuing my passion in programming, computer science, and technology in general.
