Introduction
The Documentation Team manages the Ubuntu Documentation Project (UDP), an open source volunteer project that develops and maintains documentation for the Ubuntu operating system.
The docteam is still very small, and has a big job to do. New contributors and members are always welcome. People are needed mostly for writing and editing, but there are many other ways of making a useful contribution. For example, simply pointing out errors (such as typos, grammar and spelling, and technical errors) is an extremely useful way to help.
How to Contribute
Great! You want to help. There are two areas that the DocumentationTeam need help with.
The first is taking care of the community-contributed documentation, which is done on the Wiki. This is the easiest way to get involved - the wiki is really easy to learn and to contribute to, and it is open to everybody! See the page WikiTeam for more information about how to get involved with that!
The second is with the documentation which is shipped in the distribution, and appears in the Ubuntu/Kubuntu help systems. This documentation is written in docbook xml, and hosted in the team's subversion repository. Don't worry if you don't know any of our tools yet. It is easy to contribute without knowing our tools, and they are easy to learn! Go to the [:/GettingStarted:Getting Started] page to learn how to contribute.
