Hi I'm Duncan Lithgow.
I've been playing with Linux for about a year now, mostly Fedora Core. Fedora has been good for me, but is not something I would ever try and get friend or my mother to use. I'm hoping to be part of making Ubuntu a real pleasure for the desktop home users.
I have a website at: http://lithgow-schmidt.dk full of stuff, but nothing Linux related (yet)
Bye

Welcome to the Ubuntu Wiki. Here you can:
- Finding existing solutions to known issues
- Learn how to use Ubuntu better and faster
- Find links to other resources for Ubuntu, Linux and much more
- Write documentation to help other Ubuntu Linux users
If you're new to wiki then you'll want to know that a link looks LikeThis (notice the words are strung together)
This page is an index and links to categories, not the actual guides. So if you know of a guide which doesn't fit into a category - you'll need to make a new category!
NewToUbuntu - Ubuntu for those with no technical knowledge who need some basics to get Ubuntu installed and stable
UbuntuSupport - This page lists guides to finding support for Ubuntu so you can choose the best method for you.
- [:Installation] - Basic and advanced methods of installing Ubuntu, and the supported architectures and hardware
SoftwareManagement - Learn about adding and removing different types of software from your system. Synaptic is the default graphic package manager. Learn how to use it in SynapticHowto
