Introduction

This page will function as the Management Control Center for the Edubuntu Handbook. Plans are to break down the chapters into sections. These sections will then be open for editing by whoever is interested in doing so. The interested person will add his/her name to the Editor cell. There will be a status cell which will need a legend to go along with it in order to deviate from Work In Progress (WIP), and so forth. These will be color coded making it easier to distinguish the current process of each section. We will look into integration somehow with the SVN servers status mechanism.

Contribute

The Edubuntu Handbook project always welcomes new contributors. While the handbook is being put together in the Docbook format, some of the current contributors start out by working in plain text which gets converted by another member, or get help converting to Docbook when they are ready to submit.

Before beginning any work on a chapter or section of the book, please look over the [:Management#head-4c0530d1d054b906164dd19b7b6b9253bae2a7da:Management Control Center] to see the current status of each section and/or project. If there is work going on within a chapter or section that you might be interested in, contact the editor to see if they need help. If the editor can use your help, please add your information to the contributor section on the corresponding chapter line. We ask that if possible, no one have more than three works in progress at any given time. Please update this page whenever the status of any of your sections and/or chapters change.

The Edubuntu Handbook is currently being managed via Subversion through the Ubuntu Documentation Project. Information on the Ubuntu Documentation Project's Subversion can be found on the [:DocumentationProject/Repository:Documentation Repository] page. Anyone is welcome to check out the repository and make edits, although only members of the Ubuntu Documentation Project have the rights to commit. Your changes can be submitted either in plain text or by creating a patch using svn diff > yourpatch.patch and emailing it to the Edubuntu Developers mailing list located in the [:Management#head-4e08157b5cd310026b8e00c6cbea68a86fd0266d:Contact] section. If one of the editors or team member's deem the patch is viable, it will be committed as soon as possible.
