In K12LTSP, there is a session named "Reset your desktop" that simply removes all Gnome & KDE configuration before starting the default session. LTSP also has trouble with persistent session processes and /tmp/ files; these hang around and cause login and desktop configuration problems in some cases.

Edubuntu will provide a "Reset your desktop" session that users can select to start over with Gnome & KDE, and Edubuntu will implement the scripts from K12LTSP that clean up session processes and /tmp/ files at login/logout.
