  • Local Advocacy:

    • Organizing UbuCon at this year's ALF, fls, ubuntu bootcamp, meetups (Tampa and Spacecoast), potential ubuntu hours other areas... other? Ubuntu User Day continued organization and participation.

    • continued work with Qimo -- Anchor House Build-day end of January, networking 6-12 computers for a computer lab for a transient boys home.

Experience

  • Communication:

    • We are maintaining multiple lines of communication, including a Wiki, a sub-forum, an IRC Channel (#ubuntu-florida) and a mailing list.

  • Local Advocacy:

    • We participated in the Florida Linux Shows, as well as the Atlanta Linux Fest. We have release parties, and had a 60-person strong anniversary celebration. We have been hosting Ubuntu Hours across the state, and have regular monthly meetups. One of our members was involved in the organization of Ubuntu User Day, and two of our other members lead sessions.
  • Charitable Advocacy and Exposure:

    • In the past 12 months, we have hosted 3 build or install days, working with Qimo4Kids to get computers to at-risk children. One of these installs was at a local at-risk youth shelter, where all of the resident children got involved. We had 75 participants, and built approximately 40 computers.
