Welcome to the Ubuntu Galician Team!

The Galician Local Community (LoCo) Team is a group of Galician speaking volunteers. The team translates, supports and advocates the usage of Ubuntu in Galician. The official language for this team is Galician

What We Do

  • Support Ubuntu locally
    • Support existing New York state GNU/Linux user groups

    • Partner with local computer user groups to assist with GNU/Linux and other free and open source software (FLOSS) events

    • Hold educational sessions open to the public
    • Host and assist with GNU/Linux install fests
  • Support Ubuntu at the state level
    • Assist New York State Ubuntu users with finding:
      • Local GNU/Linux groups
      • Local computer retailers that support Ubuntu and GNU/Linux
  • Ubuntu Activism
    • Advocate for the adoption of Ubuntu:
      • Individual users and families
      • Schools
      • Libraries
      • Businesses
      • Senior centers
    • Assist local computer retailers with adopting Ubuntu
    • Educate local computer retailers and consultants about Canonical partner programs
  • Assist our members grow in the global Ubuntu community
    • Help our members find Ubuntu teams that align with their personal interests
