This group's purpose is to help promote and support Ubuntu and Open Source Software through out the State of Georgia.
Our mailing list is a great way to get in touch. Use it to communicate any problems, questions, or comments related to Georgia and Ubuntu.

The #ubuntu-us-ga channel on the Freenode IRC network can be used as needed for online meetings.
We currently do not have formal independent meetings. If there is any need for a meeting in person information can be found here and through the mailing list.
If you are interested helping or want help in person read about Free IT Athens' open hours below.
Free IT Athens
Free IT Athens is a non-profit community advocate for fair and open technology in Athens, Georgia and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide access to information technology resources that are cost-prohibitive or not available to greater Athens-Clarke County residents and organizations.
Free IT has many on going and upcoming projects. Most of which involve refurbishing older computers, installing Ubuntu Linux on them, and returning them to the community.
Open hours are held most Sundays 1-5 pm (See web site for closings, like for holidays). Open hours are a time for people to come in help, get help, or just hang out. See web site for more details.
