7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, 8.04 Hardy Heron |
7.10: Ran on single hard drive, graphics card fully working after restricted drivers installed. Sound working after downloading drivers from here. 8.04: Sucessfully used on RAID 0 array after a bit of work, using instructions from here. The Creative X-fi drivers don't install under Hardy, so instructions found here were used and sound was acheived. Graphics working fully after restricted drivers installed. Built in CD and DVD drives are functional and 13-in-1 card reader works. Both: Live CD's caused the monitor to return an "out of range" error, but can be used when booted into safe graphics mode. |

Everything works except: To use dual monitors had to install the proprietary nVidia drivers (install was automatic once I told it to, very nice). Two Samsung SyncMaster 205BWs, had to edit the xorg.conf manually to use the native 1680x1050 resultion of the monitors even though the model was listed and selected. I was using a Linksys RV016 so I had to disable window_scaling: /etc/sysctl.conf -> net.ipv4.tcp_window_scaling = 0 |
