This is one of two pages that hold templates for beginners team members. Comments on the pages have either been made a generic notes on what to put where, or more eleborate with ## which won't display unless you look at the source of a page. These are examples, if you want to make use of them, copy them to your own homepage and then edit them to your liking. Do not apply changes to this page, merely push edit, copy the source and cancel. Be creative, see other people's pages and make it your own by altering it.

For more information on wiki editing see [[HelpOnEditing|here]].

## This section is where you should talk about your screen name and how you came to use it. It doesn't need to be an ##essay, one or two lines would be fine. You should also list how you first came across Ubuntu. For example: ## My screen name is simple and not so creative.
Line 36: Line 24:
My screen name is partially derived from the colour of my hair, Silver. I also like foxes, hence Silver Fox. Nothing else to say really about it, sorry that their is no big mystery :)

Ubuntu was first introduced to me by a colleague and since then it has become my operating system of choice. From tentative steps I feel that I am now quite confident with it. I have managed to successfully introduce a few friends to the operating system and now serve as their immediate access to help.
I have decided on Ubuntu 10.04 after installing several earlier releases of Ubuntu, Knoppix, Debian, Suse, Fedora and Red Hat. I just did not get it. Now I get it. and I love Ubuntu but wish to work with the LTS to learn more and learn to assist others. I have one friend I am encouraging and will support possibly a second friend. So as I learn I am committed to teaching and assisting them.

Socially I try to stay fit and active. My fitness regime includes Running, Cycling, Swimming and Badminton. I am also a keen snooker and pool player. Playing Snooker and Pool for the local pub team is my way of relaxing whilst at the same time socializing with friends. I began an exercise regime again last year which includes yoga, swimming, resistance training and cardio. Of course because of the holidays, I am off my schedule, but plan to resume regularly.

## This section is also a great place to tell people if you use Ubuntu for professional purposes. For example:

In recent months I have been making use of a WUBI install of Ubuntu on a work computer. This first hand experience has given me the unique perspective to critically evaluate its uses. I find it an ideal way of introducing Microsoft Windows users to the operating system. I eagerly wait for MUBI to be released (similar to WUBI except for Apple Macs)
## The institution where I work offers Red Hat to all employees. But again, I prefer Ubuntu 10.04.
