I first began using ubuntu at 5.10, as dual boot to my windows xp install, sometime in early 2006, I reformatted and upgraded to 6.06, forgot windows and have been using ubuntu for everything ever since, upgraded to 6.10.
I only use a laptop now, the kids have the dreaded windows onstalled on the HP tower we have, fro the games, this is what impresses me so much about ubuntu, my laptop has a bit under 256mb ram(shared with graphics) and still runs beryl and ALL 3D graphics it produces.

I'm not a programmer or anything like that, I have played with a bit of html and some java at times, I am very interested in ubuntu and, while not everyone is going to want to run ubuntu, it is only fair that they should know there is a choice. I am not a programmer or I.T. professional, or anything like that, I do some freelance web design and publishing over at www.red7tech.com basically because I enjoy it, and I like working with ubuntu. My real day job (well actually it's a night job): I'm a security guard for www.hnehealth.nsw.gov.au/ I have begun to convert a lot of my training material from the original powerpoint file to html, converted using impress, and some done manually, to autorun on CD for that other OS that the NSW government insists on using.

I have some other ubuntu stuff online at http://www.net504.com
The whole wiki concept is a bit new to me, and i still don't know if I like it too much, guess I'll see....
I am on the forums every now and then, not as often as I'd like but I help people where I can.
