HISTORY

This Loco Team was formed in March 2006 by 3 guys at Santac estate along Ngong Road.

MEMBERS

We are currently all residents of Nairobi and expect to grow to be a more effective team.

PROJECTS

  • Attracting new members
  • Distributing Ubuntu CDs locally to businesses, schools, institutions, organisations and individual users.
  • Develop "Kenyan like" logos
  • Develop a mirror site.
  • Local community developer.
  • Promoting the Go Open-source Campaign.
  • Ubuntu-and linux in general, training and consultancy.
  • launching a Go Open-source Campaign website and Magazine.

  • Develop an open source system for university (students & staff) with laptops.

  • Translation of ubuntu to kiswahili language.

MEETINGS

Our meetings are always held on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The venue is always agreed on during the last meeting ranging from residential houses to campuses. Those wishing to be new members and residents of Nairobi please contact RonaldOdero via email; ronaldodero@yahoo.com.
