hardware-dx-n-touchpad-support (0/0/0)

Touchpads on laptops will continue to be one of the most popular/prevalent touch (and sometimes multitouch) for quite some time. Similarly, mixed touchpad/mouse devices like the Apple Magic Mouse or the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse can support gestures, but the gestures need to be properly designed for these types of devices.

hardware-kernel-n-bug-handling (1/0/12)

Continuing on the work we have completed in previous blueprints, I'd like for this session to focus on what can be done to continue our efforts in making bugs and bug work more of a fixed priority for the team as well as determining what changes can be made to our current method of determining the bugs to be put on the Top 50 list. We'll also review the utility of the Top 50 and gather ideas on improvements there should that process be seen as effective.

jeremyfoshee

Todo

hardware-kernel-n-config-review (6/0/10)

All configuration changes from the UDS review session are now applied and uploaded. Also the AGP drivers of interest have been identified and moved built-in. Only two items remain, neither critical for natty-alpha-1. These items are still on track for natty-alpha-1 completion.

hardware-kernel-n-stable-frankenkernel-maintenance (2/0/4)

Currently working on the implementation of the 2.6.32.y-drm33.z notification scripts, documentation bits to get started soon.

stefan-bader-canonical

In Progress

hardware-kernel-n-stable-process-review (5/0/12)

Look over the current process for stable kernel maintenance and identify places to improve the process or make it simpler to understand for people trying to get things changed for released kernels.

sconklin

In Progress

hardware-kernel-n-ubuntu-delta-review (15/0/35)

aufs2 updated to official 2.6.37-rcN release from upstream. LIRC patches dropped to clean up the delta. 6 of the 21 personal patch reviews are now done. Some of these are likely to miss the natty-alpha-1 deadline, but none are release critical for the milestone.

apw

In Progress

hardware-kernel-n-version-and-flavours (2/0/8)

Discussions are ongoing as to the kernels to use for omap3, this centres around whether the Linaro kernel is fully featured enough and what levels of support we are able to provide for it. Discussions continue but we are currently waiting on testing of the Linaro kernel against the current userspace. This will not become critical until natty-alpha-2.

apw

In Progress

none-kernel-n-misc (0/0/6)

The state of ARM support is as yet undefined, ongoing work to determine if we can use Linaro kernels for the distro. Also some work on some long standing ecryptfs bugs.

apw

In Progress

cloud-server-n-ec2-cluster-compute (0/0/1)

Amazon announced a new instance type called "cluster compute", which utilises xen hvm. There have been many requests for Ubuntu images that would run on this instance type.

jdstrand

Todo

packageselection-foundations-n-grub2-boot-framebuffer (2/0/6)

GRUB2 supports programming a VBE mode in the boot loader and telling the kernel about it, causing the kernel to use a framebuffer at boot. With Linux 2.6.34, vesafb/efifb can hand over smoothly to a KMS driver, allowing us to assemble all of this into something very close to a flicker-free boot splash process.
