What was done engineering wise?

We uploaded the 3.5.0-15.[20-22] Quantal kernel. These uploads contained an update to the v3.5.4 upstream stable kernel, eCryptfs bug fixes, Haswell graphics support patches, an updated and re-enabled aufs, i915 backlight control fixes, and Cypress PS/2 trackpad tap-to-click fixes. As usual, we uploaded this kernel to the ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/q-lts-backport PPA to facilitate testing of the 12.10 kernel in 12.04. Please test and let us know your results.

What's about to land that might impact the other teams and release as a whole?

Summary of bugs working on by team (reasonably reliable)

• 1011828 - Session failed to laod with 12.10 kernel on 12.04 test

• 993506 - nvidia kernel module fails to build on 3.4.x kernel [fatal error: asm/system.h: No such file or directory]

  • Fixed in Quantal, but want it SRU'd for Precise as it will affect anyone running a 12.10 kernel in 12.04

• 994255 - bcmwl-kernel-source 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu6.1: bcmwl kernel module failed to build [fatal error: asm/system.h: No such file or directory]

  • Fixed in Quantal, but want it SRU'd for Precise as it will affect anyone running a 12.10 kernel in 12.04

• 1022578 - [omap3beagle - omap3beagle, recording] No sound at all

• 1025663 - DMIStringIndexOutOfRange on HP Proliant ML110 G5

• 1031831 - 3.5.0-7.7~precise1-generic works except for broadcom bcmwl-kernel-source failure

• 1030894 - have to add nomodeset to the kernel commandline in order to boot with kernel 3.5.0-6

• 1034338 - Quantal-alpha boot on iMac 5,1 requires acpi=off

• 1037147 - QRT failed on tests 091 and 092 on 3.5.0-10

• 1039402 - [quantal] overlayfs over r/o NFS mount fails to overwrite existing files

• 1041883 - Recent patch to asus-wmi module makes system unbootable

• 1042213 - [quantal] Kernel oops with NFS mount

• 1043338 - Second suspend reliably fails (nouveau)

• 1043403 - Wireless not active during installation or after boot

• 1044151 - Toshiba battery always reports 51% charged when fully charged

• 1045027 - iPXE kills kvm with KVM: entry failed, hardware error 0x80000021

• 1049650 - Regression: "Undefined video mode" with 3.5.0-14.16

• 1030233 - not have bluetooth usb 0489:e046 Foxconn / Hon Hai

• 1047092 - Mini.iso doesn't load wireless drivers

• 1047527 - Dual-Role OTG device on non-HNP port - unable to enumerate USB device on port 1

• 1048178 - Kernel Panic at boot on new kernel linux-image-3.5.0-14

• 1051855 - Broadcom bluetooth device BCM20702A0 [0a5c:21f1] not supported

• 1052064 - External USB hard disks are not seen when connected to docking station

• 1052278 - [ASUS][X501U][X401U] Fn + F8 display mode switch hot key will switch the mode 2 times by one single key stroke

• 1021471 - clone() hang when creating new network namespace
