=== What was done engineering wise? ===
 * We've rebased the Quantal kernel to upstream v3.4 final and uploaded. This upload collapses the -virtual flavor, reinstates the i386 generic flavor, and transitions the i386 generic-pae flavor to the generic flavor.  We've also homogenized the entire linux-meta package and removed the non-smp powerpc meta package as it was made obsolete in Precise.

We've also got the 12.10 kernel for 12.04 available for testing. It can be installed from the following PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/q-lts-backport

We welcome any early adopters to please install, test, and let us know your feedback.

We anticipate the upstream v3.5-rc1 kernel to release relatively soon. Being the first rc for the 3.5 series, I'd expect it to be less stable. We would of course appreciate any testing and feedback once it is uploaded and available.

What's about to land that might impact the other teams and release as a whole?

We anticipate the upstream v3.5-rc1 kernel to release relatively soon. Being the first rc for the 3.5 series, I'd expect it to be less stable. We would of course appreciate any testing and feedback once it is uploaded and available.

Summary of bugs working on by team (reasonably reliable)

  • 1003793 - broadcom wireless does not work with quantal-backport-kernel

  • 997774 - 12.10: Wifi is unstable, disconnect once a minute

  • 1004101 - [RFE] Allow Bug Reporting When Running Backport Kernel

Dependencies on other teams to make deliverables, blocking items, release wide concerns?

TBD
