Fedora

Fedora is planning on including KDE 4 in their version 9 release. Their plan is similar to ours and that is to utilize the ~/.kde directory for KDE 4.

openSUSE

The following is a quote taken from the openSUSE wiki (KDE 4 Plans link below): 

Will we keep ~/.kde4 as configuration directory? For whole KDE4 cycle.
What about data/config migration? Idea: first time KDE4-wizard asking which data to migrate from ~/.kde? 
Keep the "panel" closely aligned to upstream of each release or more to our KDE3 setup? 
Later (like KDE 4.1) will have different start menus available. Which to use? Likely stay with Kickoff familiarity reason.
