Current issues:

 * The Screen brightness setting special keys show the notification properly but it has no effect - can require BIOS update plus configuration
 * DVD issues https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/412527 though one BIOS workaround changing from AHCI to IDE seems to work for some

Problematic hardware: 
 * Wireless connection disconnecting - [[https://launchpad.net/~stefan-bader-canonical/+archive/karmic|Stefan Bader's PPA]] solved the problems!
 * Synaptics Touchpad on/off switch not working - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/374459 - fixed by changing GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" to "i8042.nomux quiet splash"
 * Synaptics Touchpad does not disable while typing - fixed by creating an xorg.conf with "sudo X -configure" and adding the following to Section "InputDevice" -- Option "SHMConfig" "on"

I got this machine at Radio Shack last minute before UDS-L in Dallas, TX after my thinkpad's video card died.  I saw another one at Radio Shack in California.

On the 4810TG page [[https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/435906|bug 435906]] is referenced.  In the lspci above there are two listings for graphics cards as 00:02.0 and 00:02.1 but I don't know how to check if they are powered on or not.
