## page was renamed from LaptopTestingTeam/AsusL3000D * Contact: [[Jeroen van der Vegt]] * Make: Asus * Model: L3000D * Website: http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=L3000-D%20Series&langs=09 Note that this is one of the few AMD laptop models Asus made. Additionally it has a SiS740 video chip, not a Radeo card. == Current Issues == * 80x25 console does not 'fit' on the screen: the bottom 'fall off' the screen and thus can't be read. Because of the, bootprogress can't monitored closely. Switching to a higher framebuffer resolution fixes all this. * ACPI works fine with breezy, but not with Dapper. Therefor, frequency scaling does not work with Dapper. It seems to be a problem with SMP kernels. * Modem not detected: 0000:00:02.6 Modem: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] AC'97 Modem Controller (rev a0) (prog-if 00 [Generic]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.: Unknown device 1696 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 11 I/O ports at b400 [size=256] I/O ports at b000 [size=128] Capabilities: [48] Power Management version 2 Used to work (in Debian Unstable) with slmodem driver. == Hardware details == || || in Breezy? || in Dapper (current development)? || || Installation works? || Untested (updated from Debian) || Yes || ||<-4 tablewidth="75%"> '''Hardware Information''' || ||<-4> '''Screen & Monitors''' || ||<|2> '''Device''' ||<-2> '''Works?''' ||<|2> '''Bug #''' || || in Breezy? || in Dapper (current development)? || || Screen || Yes || Yes || || || Correct resolution? || Yes || Yes || || || Correct refresh rate? || Yes || Yes || || || 3D Acceleration || No || No || || || External monitor works? || Yes || Yes || || || External monitor - mirrors || Yes || Untested || || || External monitor - extend desktop || Yes || Untested || || ||<-4> '''Power Management''' || || Battery detected? || Yes || Yes || || || Hibernates? || Yes || Untested || || || Sleep || Yes || Untested || || || Dim monitor on battery || Yes || Yes || || || Blank monitor on inactivity || Yes || Yes || || || Lid Close || Yes || Yes || || || Cpu frequency scaling || Yes || NO || || ||<-4> '''Sound''' || || Sound works? || Yes || Yes || || || Correct volume? || Yes || Yes || || || Hardware volume switch || No || No || 19671 || || Headphone jack || Yes || Yes || || || Mic jack || Yes || Yes || || ||<-4> '''Networking''' || || Wired NIC || Yes || Yes || || || Wireless NIC || NA || NA || || || PCMCIA NIC || NA || NA || || || Firewire || Untested || Untested || || || Bluetooth || NA || NA || || || Modem || Untested || Untested || || || Infrared || Untested || Untested || ||<-4> '''Touchpad & Mice''' || || Touchpad || Yes || Yes || || || Touchpad - Doubletap = double click || Yes || Yes || || || Touchpad - Scroll down side || Yes || No || || || External mouse - USB || Yes || Yes || || || External mouse - Serial || Untested || Untested || || ||<-4> '''Docking Station/Port Replicator''' || || AC through replicator || Untested || Untested || || || USB || Untested || Untested || || || Serial || Untested || Untested || || || Parallel || Untested || Untested || || || External Monitor - VGA || Untested || Untested || || || External Monitor - DVI || Untested || Untested || || || Modem || Untested || Untested || || || NIC || Untested || Untested || || || PS/2 || Untested || Untested || || ||<-4> '''Additional Hardware''' || || Fingerprint reader || Untested || Untested || || || CD/DVD drive || Yes || Yes || || || PCMCIA cards || Yes || Yes || || || Parallel Ports || Untested || Untested || || || Card reader(s) || Untested || Untested || || ## Add or remove keys as needed for your laptop. Fill out action All special keys are handled through ACPI events. An error in the acpi-support packages makes them ALL non-functional (see bug 19671, http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=19671). Applying the patch indicated there makes all important ones work. ||<-6 tablewidth="75%"> '''Function and other keys''' || ||<|2> '''Fn key''' ||<|2> '''Operation''' ||<|2> '''Keycode''' ||<-2> '''Works?''' ||<|2> Bug # || || in Breezy? || in Dapper (current development)? || || + F1 || Sleep || || Yes || Untested || || || + F5 || Darker || || Yes || Yes || || || + F6 || Brighter || || Yes || Yes || || || + F7 || Black out LCD || || Yes || Yes || || || + F8 || Switch LCD/VGA || || Yes || Untested || || || + F10 || (Un)mute || || Yes || Untested || || || + F11 || Volume up || || Yes || Untested || || || + F12 || Volume down || || Yes || Untested || || || + Ins || Numlock|| || Yes || Yes || || || + Del || Scrolllock|| || Untested || No || || Again with indicated patch: 'action keys' (for e-mail, internet etc.) on top work fine. Non functional keys: the numeric keypad mapped to normal keys (1,2,3 mapped to j,k,l). === Notes === ## Add any notes here
