Issues/Solutions with Karmic x86 (32-bit)

To use the native resolution 1024x768 you need to make a few changes to /etc/X11/xorg.conf. First, reboot Ubuntu into recovery mode. Then type

Xorg -configure

Now reboot into normal Ubuntu. Open /etc/X11/xorg.conf as root in your favorite text editor. Replace Section "Device" with the following:

Now save your work, log out and then press Ctrl+Alt+SysRq+K to restart X, hopefully with the correct resolution.

Karmic x86 (stable release) tested on this system: acpi-support was not enabled on my installation so nothing was found in /var/lib/acpi-support. I'm however certain of the following:

• Suspend or hibernate slows the computer to extreme slow operating speeds when restarted. (Need reboot to reset).
