Current Issues

Arthur Archnix:

  • Correct resolution and speaker mute on jack insert do not work from fresh install.
  • Sound does not *seem to* work from fresh install when dual booting. See notes.
  • Video playback from mplayer and totem seems not to work. See notes.

Notes

This only applies to the model owned by Arthur Archnix:

  • If sound does not work from fresh install (in a dual-boot scenario with Windows):
    • Restart, enter bios (F10), reset to defaults, apply changes (F10), save and exit (F10).
  • Video playback seemes not working due to some XVideo issue. A workaround is to disable XVideo support by inserting the following line in the video card section of xorg.conf:
    • Option "XVideo" "false"

CategoryLaptop

  1. Model PavelŠefránek (1)

  2. For full resolution do sudo aptitude install xserver-xorg-video-intel. (2)

  3. Model Arthur Archnix and model PavelŠefránek (3)

  4. Model FlorianPurucker (4)

  5. Model Arthur Archnix (5)

  6. Model FlorianPurucker and model PavelŠefránek (6)

  7. Processor does not support frequency scaling - Model Arthur Archnix and model FlorianPurucker (7)

  8. Model PavelŠefránek, processor can scale its own frequency (8)

  9. Add the line options snd-hda-intel model=laptop to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base in order to mute speakers when headphones are plugged in. (This is not so proper solution, but for now it just works. See [https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=337409 #337409] for more details) (9)

  10. With restricted drivers. (10)
