Notes

  • [1] On initial install, only one resolution is available - 640x480. This is alleviated by adding correct refresh rates to xorg.conf. Resolutions detected are 1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480. 2100CDT's internal display only supports 1024x768 as a "virtual display mode", 800x600 (full screen - proper), 640x480 (box in center of screen).
  • [2] After editing xorg.conf. Mine currently set to 31.5-64.3 hsync, 50-90 vsync. Also works fine @ 800x600 with 28-51 hsync, 50-70 vsync.
  • [3] Works, but it mirrors.
  • [4] Sounds looped/PC Card not seen. Fixed by changing BIOS setting for "PC Card - Controller Mode (on page 2) from "Auto-selected" to "Cardbus/16-bit". r818x driver works (well) out of the box!! - more below

Additional Notes

  • "Toshset" works fine.
  • Driver module for the Realtek RTL8180 chip + sa2400/max2820/grf5101 frontends is available here. This is the driver module that works with my DWL-650 v.M1 (rtl8180 chip + Phillips sa2400 frontend).

  • 2100CDT specs can be found here(pdf).

  • r818x driver works (well!) out of the box! Not only is it much better than ndiswrapper, it seems to work even better than when I compiled it under hoary and breezy. Awesome!
