Bluetooth Howto

Does not work with inital 8.10 release

The bluetooth transmitter is turned off on each reboot. To enable it, you can use this command:

sudo toshset -bluetooth on

if you are running Ubuntu on AMD64 you can download toshset64 here http://www.schwieters.org/toshset/

Enable WLAN channels 12 and 13 in 8.10

The WLAN driver per default does disable channels 12 and 13, since they are not allowed to be used in US. In europe these channels are allowed to be used.

Add this to /etc/modprobe.d/options(This file is /etc/modprobe.d/options.conf in Jaunty and newer versions):

options cfg80211 ieee80211_regdom=EU

The reboot the laptop.

Release notes

Enable the fingerprint reader in 8.10
