Adminstrators' Role

You, as the administrator, are required to ensure the following happens:

  • Monitor the general Lubuntu, Ubuntu QA and Lubuntu QA mailing lists, asking for clarifications when needed.
  • Be logged into #ubuntu-testing to track what is happening and ask questions - this is the general chat on QA and a good place to ask questions.
  • Be logged into #ubuntu-release to track what is happening. - this is where the release team live. (Only talk on there if you have a direct question and have done the research on it, as they will ask questions of you in response to your query).
  • At the weekly Ubuntu QA meeting you will be asked to give a quick report. The answer all is going well is quite okay. (Mention any problems affecting Lubuntu testing that is thought not to be down to Lubuntu development. You can also check if any issues affecting Lubuntu may be affecting more than just Lubuntu).

  • At the weekly Lubuntu meeting you will be asked to give a quick reportas to how testing is going on from the Ubuntu-QA meeting and any issues from there that may affect Lubuntu.
  • Approve new members of Lubuntu-QA.,
  • Update Lubuntu wiki area on areas to do with testing both during, after and before each release cycle.

Summary: You are to ensure everyone is kept 'in the loop'. You are this teams' secretary and personal assistant. You do and get whatever they need to test Lubuntu and liase with Ubuntu-QA
