Main Inclusion Report for gegl
Scope
gegl is needed for gimp 2.6 as the engine of new gimp version. Gimp is obviously in main.
Requirements
Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/g/gegl; available for i386 and amd64
Rationale:
- New build dependency for Gimp 2.5 and so... 2.6, part of default installation
- The package is a new build dependency or dependency of a package that we already support.
Security:
- No CVE entries
- No secunia history
- No binaries running as root or suid/sgid. No daemon either.
- Doesn't open any port
Quality assurance:
- The package does not need configuration file (only ldconfig is called on configure)
- No debconf call.
Debian bugs: no showstoppers
Maintenance in Debian is active (last version available)
Upstream is vigorous (new component)
- Glib test program available in the build and activated in intrepid (made from the ./configure)
Standards compliance:
FHS and Debian Policy compliant.
Debian library packaging guide standards compliant.
Packaging system is cdbs. No patch system used.
Dependencies:
glel: libbabl-0.0-0 (babl will wait for inclusion in this MIR), libc6, libcairo2 , libgegl-0.0-0 (waiting for inclusion in this MIR), libglib2.0-0, libgtk2.0-0, libpng12-0
- libglel-0.0.0: libbabl-0.0-0 (cf previously), libc6, libcairo2, libglib2.0-0, libgtk2.0-0, libjpeg62, libpango1.0-0, libpng12-0
- libglel-0.0-dev: libgegl-0.0-0 (cf previously), libbabl-0.0-0-dev (cf previously)
- libglel-0.0-doc: no dependency
Maintenance:
- It is a young project, with a simple package, but upstream seems to be reactive as this a new vital part of gimp.
- This package may be managed by the desktop team as a dependency of gimp.
