I'm a forty something information technology professional and Linux enthusiast. I live in Hampshire, England, with my wife and daughter. I've been using Linux since 1995 and my first experience with Ubuntu was 4.10 (Warty Warthog). Prior to Ubuntu I used Yggdrasil, Slackware, Redhat, CRUX and Fedora. Ubuntu was my only workstation operating system from late 2004 until early 2012, when I switched to Arch Linux for my workstations. Passionate Open Source advocate and enthusiast. Proficient software developer using several interpreted and compiled languages. Contributor to many Open Source projects to retain and develop technical skill as an accomplished systems integrator and architect. Spearheads the development of Ubuntu MATE, a popular Open Source desktop operating system.
