Ubuntu Massachusetts Local Community Team Page

The Ubuntu Massachusetts Local Community Team is a group working to advocate Ubuntu throughout the state of Massachusetts.

Team Info

The Ubuntu Massachusetts Local Community Team advocates Open Source and the use of Ubuntu throughout the State of Massachusetts through outreach programs to educate, promote, supply, and support the public.

Our team is a chapter of the ["NUUbuntuTeam"] which promotes Ubuntu in the North Eastern United States. We share their goals but focus locally in Massachusetts.

The Ubuntu Massachusetts Team is still working to become approved.

Goals

  1. Educate
    • Teach the public about Ubuntu
  2. Promote
    • Advocate Ubuntu to schools, libraries, and families
  3. Supply
    • Give out the necessary supplies for getting Ubuntu
    • Get Ubuntu out through CD's and pre-installed on machines
  4. Support
    • Provide local support for Ubuntu
    • Make getting Ubuntu easy by assisting with migrating, installing, configuring, and using Ubuntu

All done in accordance to the [https://launchpad.net/codeofconduct/1.0.1 Ubuntu Code of Conduct]

Our goals may expand and evolve as time passes

Release Parties

Once a new version of Ubuntu is released, there will be plenty to celebrate, whether you were directly involved the release process or just rejoice because the next iteration of the best Linux distribution is finally out. We hold a release party for each new release.
