About me

I'm a 17-year-old high school student from Poland. I've been using Linux since 2000, starting from Slackware and finally staying with Ubuntu from Warty up till now. Since Hoary I've been using development releases to contribute to the community by reporting bugs. Right now, I'm on Edgy Eft. I'm also a member of Polish Linux User Group.

Contributions

Bug Triage

Bugs triaging is my major contribution to Ubuntu community at the moment. I'm an active member of the BugSquad and the DesktopBugs team.

Packaging

I have attended a MOTU School session on packaging basics and resolved a few bugs related with packaging (wrong package descriptions, etc.). I'm also a MOTU Hopeful and I'd like to help out more with packaging software for Universe repositories in the future.

Polish translations

I'm currently working on the Polish translation of Ubuntu ([Ubuntu Polish Translators]).

I've contributed to such packages as:

Spread Ubuntu!

I recommend Ubuntu everywhere I can, I successfully switched several people from Windows to Linux, providing them with free life-time support. Some of them even show some aspects of Ubuntu Love by reporting bugs Wink ;) In spite of that, since the Ship It! program is available I've been handing out Ubuntu CD-s to my friends as well as sending them on request by snail mail to people who don't have the time to wait for the CD-s to arrive from Ubuntu headquarters.

I also run a small home network, based on Ubuntu, consisting of 2 desktops running Dapper and 1 desktop/server running Edgy.

My future plans

First of all, I want to continuously improve my overall knowledge about Ubuntu and Linux itself. Right now I'm only able to help with bug triaging and translating, however I'm currently plodding through numerous tutorials and manuals on packaging. I'd also be glad to become a Ubuntu Member in near future.
