I love Lubuntu (runs great on my machine), and I hope to prove my worth as much as possible. Testing Lubuntu 11.10/12.04/12.10

##A brief piece about your overall involvement in the Lubuntu community. Just a paragraph or two. - Uou may want to move this under the 'Future Hopes' section, below.

I'm testing Lubuntu 12.10. you can too! Grab a daily build or update your sources.list and jump on the bandwagon. It's great fun, and you get to play with all of the new features that arrive almost daily. Make this one the best yet.

Been using Linux since I joined Ubuntu Forums (see above). Reasonably competent in C-based languages such as C, C++, Python, etc. (learnt C++ to a degree, writing a python app as I speak).

Reasonably confident with with the command-line. (that's the most important bit, right?) :)

I have read both the Debian new maintainers' guide and the Ubuntu packaging guide, and I have packaged (for launchpad, no repos or anything) a few applications, but please don't take me for anything near a packaging whiz.

I like testing stuff. Unstable stuff is the best, because it breaks. Preferably in a bad way.

I've been using Linux since I joined Ubuntu Forums. I'm also reasonably competent at programming, although, as ever, a long way to go yet. A big thanks here to Bachstelze from the forums, who has been especially helpful to me. I can also package (to a degree), and hae been occasionally known to produce bash scripts, although they are definitely not my forte.

Introduction

I'm a 16-year-old from the UK, with a love of all things logical. I don't function especially well with people, so I particularly love online communities, such as the forums and IRC.

I especially love programming, (I just started to learn), as it allows me to think as logically as possible, and produce something that works as a result. While like any other beginning programmer, I've tried making platform games, 3D games, massive projects, I'm starting to realise that finishing small projects is more satisfying, so I'm cooling down a little and submitting patches rather than new projects.

Ubuntu Community Involvement

Ubuntu Forums

  • I've been a member of Ubuntu Forums since 19th of June, 2011, when I joined to solve graphics card problem. Little did I realise I'd still be coming back nearly a year later. Smile :) The community there is fantastic, and I intend to stay for as long as I still enjoy it.

IRC

Forumgoers, you may see me hanging around #ubuntuforums. Great place to be, especially when quackers starts eating things again. Wink ;)

Lubuntu Team

  • I'm a member of Lubuntu Team since 28th of Oct, 2011. I love Lubuntu (runs great on my machine), and I hope to prove my worth as much as possible.
