I am a newcomer to Ubuntu (running it on my Dell Inspiron 5150 since January 10, 2006), but I have some previous Linux and BSD experience. I tested the LiveCD of Ubuntu and it worked right out of the box on all my hardware, so I decided to install to the hard drive and use it as my primary OS. I am now dual booting with Windows XP and Ubuntu.
I have basically registered at this wiki for helping out with the following projects
LaptopTestingTeam (for Dell Inspiron 5150)
HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters (for Epson Stylus C84)
- And anything else that I see can use a bit of help.
Check out my [http://pykeylogger.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu:Chronicles Ubuntu Chronicles] page, where I have documented all the changes I have made to the stock Ubuntu install to make it do what I want it to. If you are a new user to Ubuntu, you will probably find the tips quite useful.
