I am a newcomer to Ubuntu (running it on my Dell Inspiron 5150 since January 10, 2006), but I have some previous Linux and BSD experience. I tested the LiveCD of Ubuntu and it worked right out of the box on all my hardware, so I decided to install to the hard drive and use it as my primary OS.
