I am a newcomer to Ubuntu (running it on my Dell Inspiron 5150 since January 10, 2006), but I have some previous Linux and BSD experience. I tested the Ubuntu LiveCD of 5.10 Breezy release and it worked right out of the box on all my hardware, so I decided to install to the hard drive and use it as my primary OS. I am now dual booting with Windows XP and Ubuntu, and using Ubuntu as my primary OS.
I have basically registered at this wiki for helping out with the following projects
LaptopTestingTeam (for Dell Inspiron 5150)
HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters (for Epson Stylus C84)
- And anything else that I see can use a bit of help.
Check out my Ubuntu Chronicles page, where I have documented all the changes I have made to the stock Ubuntu Breezy install to make it do what I want it to. If you are a new user to Ubuntu, you will probably find the tips quite useful. After some extensive participation on the Ubuntu Forums, I have also compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions on the forums.
Another thing you could check out is my Open Source Python Keylogger project (which is completely unrelated in any way to Ubuntu).
