About Me

Ahmed Sghaier, alias Neo31, is studying applied computer network technologies at university. This student's motivation is about new and innovative computer science technologies, especially about network software development, network protocols, operating systems and several computer science fields. Taking leadership by going forward and exploring the wide technologies, Neo31 improve his self-learning skills by reading books, magazines, articles and by researching the Internet in purpose of practicing computer technologies. In 2003 Neo31 tried GNU/Linux, by curiosity of exploring something new, on a friend's computer using live Knoppix CD. But that was not enough for him, so in 2004 he installed for the first time a GNU/Linux OS (Mandrake 8.02) on his new computer. Mandrake was practically the challenge pushing him to learn how that complicated OS works. Then he tried Fedora core 5 in 2005, and switched to use Linux in 2006 with Mandriva. For now Neo31 uses Fedora and kUbuntu and do not dual boot with the most popular OS for public use anymore. Confused of witch OS to chose, Neo31 decided to chose both of them (one to be installed on the Laptop and the other on the Desktop PC) because each one offers different features and uses the different two popular software managing systems.

Contributions

As a new member of Ubuntu-tn LoCo team, Neo31 try to balance between promoting free software, GNU/Linux OS and his education. So until now Neo31 had the chance of participating in the SFD'09 with Ubuntu-TN LoCo team (btw, thanks to Nizarus, Goldenscorp and Ubuntu-TN members who was welcoming and helpful) , but he is also doing his best to contribute to the community on the IRC channel, the forums and at university. To end with, Neo31 is planning to support and contribute more to the free software and Linux community in his country and why not to the global community.
