about me: I am a retired soldier and long time Debian user. My first experiences with Debian date back to 1997 when I decided to switch from Slackware to Debian for the purpose of hosting a Palace Chat server. During that time frame I was the network administrator for a .mil network in Germany and ran the help desk for a 300 seat network located in 4 separate physical locations. Currently I am an active member of the Ubuntu Forums Beginners Team and Unanswered Posts Team. I am also active in the Launchpad Beginner Team for Ubuntu. My current interests are in developing a rescue Live CD with internet access and a help system that will allow unskilled beginners to recover their systems from common "catastrophic" failures without inflicting further damage to their systems. |
